Conferences

We are lucky enough to be able to present our work at select conferences, with the help of Bates College! Here's where we have been so far...

SRCD 2025 Biannual Conference

In 2025, the lab headed to the Society for Research on Child Development biannual conference in Minneapolis, MI, to share three different posters representing work across two studies. Maddy presented on our participatory community mapping protocol and resultant findings about rural youths' sociopolitical engagement and wellbeing. Ariya shared updated findings on how immigrant-origin boys navigate contextual and developmental civic processes, highlighting the role of religious institutions and intersectional identity development. We enjoyed rich conversations with colleagues and learned from scholars across the world!

SRCD's Anti Racist 2024 summit (panamá)

From May 14-18, 2024, the Youth ACT Lab traveled to Panama City, Panamá, for the Society of Research in Child Development's Anti Racist Developmental Science Summit. This was the first conference experience for this lab, and Nick, Dionne, and Elena had a blast! We presented our poster titled "Emerging Adult College Students’ Anti-Racist Sociopolitical Development Within and Beyond the Year 2020." Thank you SRCD and Panamá for having us!
